This orientation is perfect for beginners and also fulfills the requirements to become independently certified to use the woodshop during member hours.</p> <p>As part of the class, you’ll create your very own one-piece wooden cheeseboard—a fun and approachable project that introduces you to the essential tools and techniques of woodworking.</p> <h3><strong>What You’ll Learn</strong></h3> <p>In this class, you’ll master the safe operation of:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Compound Miter Saw (Chopsaw):</strong> For precise crosscuts and angled cuts.</li> <li><strong>SawStop Table Saw:</strong> For ripping boards to size with advanced safety features.</li> <li><strong>Jointer and Planer:</strong> For creating smooth, flat, and uniform surfaces.</li> <li><strong>Hand Tools and Measuring Techniques:</strong> Learn the basics of shaping, sanding, and measuring for a polished finish.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Safety First</strong></h3> <p>No prior experience is necessary! We’ll provide all the guidance and tools you need.
