In this 1 day class you will learn how to create simple files for the laser cutter using Adobe Illustrator. We will go over the suitable materials, optimal settings, as well as safety. Each participant will receive hands on training using the laser cutter.

Space is limited to 5 participants.

If you complete this course and homework assignment you will be certified to use the laser cutter at any time!

Week 1:

Time: Thursday, March 15th 12:00pm - 3:00 pm

Bring a laptop + a mouse with you! (If you don’t have a laptop we have some computers here that can be used.) We will learn the basics of creating files for the laser cutter using Adobe Illustrator. How to load our files into LaserCut 5.3, how to set the Z, how to set laser tool paths, and finish with an actual operational demo of the laser.

Homework: Use the laser cutter to cut / engrave your own personal design. I will help you for this assignment if needed.
