Introduction to MIG Welding: Metal Shop Basics
In this fun and comfortable environment, you will learn the awesome skill of MIG welding, one of the most versatile welding techniques. No previous experience is necessary—everyone is welcome!
By the end of this class, you will be able to:
- Turn on the MIG welder and set it correctly for the type of material you are using
- Attach two pieces of metal together
- Use a drill press, angle grinder, and metal brake to shape and bend metal
This hands-on class is designed to introduce you to the tools and techniques used in the metal shop. You’ll gain foundational skills that can be applied to future projects, whether you're interested in fabrication, home décor, or practical repairs.
Safety First!
To participate in this class, you must wear closed-toed shoes and natural fiber clothing such as cotton or wool. A flannel shirt, jeans, and hiking boots should work perfectly!
We will provide all necessary PPE and safety equipment.
