    POTTERY: Fundamentals of Handbuilding

    Come join us for a comprehensive introduction (or re-introduction) to the world of pottery! We will cover pinch pot, coils, and slab techniques and create several unique projects along the way! We will also explore tools and texture and learn how to glaze your pieces.

    Kids & Family Pottery Workshop - Leprechaun Houses

    You are invited to join us at the MINT Pottery Studio to make some Leprechaun Houses!

    Students are required to have some prior clay experience for this class.

    Dates: Saturday February 10 9:30am-11:30pm & Sunday, February 25 from 9:30am-11:00 pm

    We will review the basics of the following to create your very own Leprechaun house, just in time for St. Patrick’s day:

      • Slab Building
      • Scoring and Slipping
      • Texture tools 

        Ages 3-5accompanied by an adult or responsible teen.

        Ages 6-11 - on their own as comfortable.

        Please bring clothes you don't mind getting messy

        Fees:

        • $50 for members
        • $75 for not-yet members*

        Fee includes all materials needed

        Instructors: Tiffany and Caitlin

        *Not-yet Members may take this or any other class at The MINT. Become a Member to gain independent access to our shops outside of class time.

        Pottery Studio Re-Orientation

        This course is mandatory for all MINT members who currently use or are planning to use the pottery shop.

        Due to the increase in shop membership and the numerous changes that we have undergone in the last 12 months, the pottery shop will require all active members to come through a re-orientation session. 

        During this session we will discuss shop and equipment maintenance, cleaning policies, kiln firing procedures and safety parameters in the studio space. 

        Members will be signed off to use the studio at the completion of the session. 

        Sessions are 30 minutes, class capacity is 10 people.

        Kids & Family Pottery Workshop - Easter Egg Dishes

        You are invited to join us at the MINT Pottery Studio to decorate some easter eggs-pottery style!

        Date: March 9th from 9:30am-11:00AM

        We will learn the basics of the following to create your very own festive Easter Egg dishes!

        • Scoring and Slipping
        • Texture tools
        • Slab Building
        • Slumping
        • Surface design 

          Ages 3-5accompanied by an adult or responsible teen.

          Ages 6-11 - on their own as comfortable.

          Please bring clothes you don't mind getting messy

          Fees:

          • $50 for members
          • $75 for not-yet members*

          Fee includes all materials needed
