New to the Mint and are excited for the pottery studio? This class is for you! Learn how to get comfortable in the space so that you can conquer any project with confidence!
This is an orientation class, please do not plan on making an item to take home with you. This class is required in order to use the pottery studio independently.
What You’ll Learn:
- Intro to the studio space
- How to set up a pottery wheel to throw
- Where work should be placed to be fired
- Cleaning procedures and expectations
- Where tools belong
- Reclaim location
- Glaze guidelines
- Types of clay and glaze allowed
- How to use the slap roller
- How to use the extruder
It will get messy! Bring clothes you are okay getting dirty in.
