Join wood shop lead Jeremy Woods and learn a few of the many techniques he has acquired over his years of woodworking.  Over the course of two sessions students will learn how to properly join boards together to construct a small end table top.  They will learn how to figure,  layout, and cut mortises using a bench top mortiser.  The legs will be tapered using a joiner.  The table aprons will be milled and sized.  Then the students will learn how to cut tenons on a table saw using a dado blade set.  The legs and aprons will be glued and clamped and the top fastened to complete an end table that will then have to be finished by the builder.  Time probably won't allow us to put a finish on the table though I will be happy to describe techniques to get you on the right track to a fine finished end table that should outlive us all.
