Laser-Cut Woodblock Printing Class
During this printmaking class, we will learn how to create a laser cut woodblock from an image. Please bring a digital image or a black and white pen drawing to convert into a woodcut. (It can be any image on your phone). We will learn how to convert this image using Photoshop, how to format it for the laser, and go over printing techniques to create multiples. This printmaking workshop at The Mint will take place on Thursday, June 27th, at 5-7pm.
About the Instructor
Elizabeth Schneider is currently one of the artists in residence at the 77art residency in Rutland, VT. She was trained in printmaking at Cornell University, and worked as a production print-maker for 6 years, printing for numerous fine artists including Alex Katz, Christian Marclay, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Vik Muniz, and Mark Dion.
