In this series of two classes, we will learn how to use a hand spindle to make yarn. Students will learn the basic principles of controlling twist to make a structurally-sound yarn that can be used for knitting, crochet, or weaving projects.

We will work with a variety of locally-grown wools, and learn different techniques for preparing fiber for spinning. Instructor Andrea Myklebust will provide materials and resources for these sessions.

At the end of the class, students will have a spindle of their own and wool to take home, and will be ready to learn how to spin on a spinning wheel if they wish!
