Introduction to Pinch Pottery: A Beginner Hand Building Class

Are you interested in taking a ceramics class, but think that throwing on the wheel is too intimidating? Do you want to create attractive, functional clay pieces but think you’ll never have time to finish a project? This is the class for you!

Making pinch pottery is a foundation of creating with clay and will give you the fundamentals to continue your journey into handbuilding. This relaxing way of working with clay is a beautiful introduction to the world of clay.

What You’ll Get:

The fundamentals of making Pinch Pottery pieces
How to shape some basic forms (bowl, cup, open dish)
Smoothing the interior of your piece
Burnishing the exterior of your piece
Joining elements to your Pinch Pot
Getting tactile experience by working with a specific clay body

Other Info:

You will get messy! Please wear clothes you are happy getting dirty.

This is a four hour event with a 30 minute break. Please be prepared with your own snacks and water.
