Pet Portrait Mosaics Workshop

with Jennifer Judkins

Come and create a mosaic representation of your favorite pet! Dogs, cats, horses, lizards, chickens.....all are appropriate. Project will create a 8 x 10 portrait suitable for framing or simple display. This class is beginner friendly, so all skill levels are welcome!

In this class, participants will learn:

how to transfer an image to a substrate.
how to prepare an appropriate substrate
how to cut glass and other tesserae to create an image
basic principles of classical mosaics
how to grout and finish the project

This is a multiple session workshop spanning 3 weeks.

Sessions: March 4th, 11th, & 18th

Time: 5:00-8:00pm

PLEASE BRING a black and white photocopy of your pet as well as the original color photo. Our substrate is 8 x 10 so the copy should be similar in size. The original color photo is used for reference.

Mosaics can get messy! Please wear closed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. All other PPE is provided by the Mint.

Fees:

$195 for members
$225 for not-yet members*

Fee includes all materials.
