Rutland, VT — The MINT, Rutland's community makerspace, will welcome the public for Vermont's statewide Open Studio Weekend on October 3 and 4, 2026. Visitors are invited to meet The MINT's makers, tour the studios, watch live demonstrations, and shop locally made art and craft pieces created on-site.

The MINT gives makers of all skill levels access to professional tools, studios, and classes across a wide range of disciplines, including pottery, woodworking, metalworking, rapid prototyping, letterpress, stained glass, jewelry, and fibers. During Open Studio Weekend, guests can see these studios in action and talk directly with the members who work in them.

“Open Studio Weekend is a chance for people in our community to see what's actually happening inside these walls,” said Stefania Urist, Board President at The MINT. “Whether someone's curious about trying pottery for the first time or wants to see a 3D printer at work, this is an easy, no-pressure way to walk in and see what's possible here.”

“As a glass artist running my business out of The MINT, Vermont's Open Studio Weekend is vital — it bridges the gap between independent working artists and the community,” said Hallie Monroe, a glass artist who runs her business out of The MINT. “It gives people a chance to step right into our shops, see specialized tools in action, and watch raw materials transform into finished pieces. For many of us, it's also a chance to connect directly with people who might become customers, students, or future members.”

Open Studio Weekend is part of a statewide celebration of Vermont's craft and maker community. Visitors can find maps and tour booklets for participating studios across the state at vermontcrafts.com.

Big thanks to our friends at the Greater Killington Women's Club (GKWC)!

The MINT's Glass Guild recently received a $150 grant to support our glass studio—funds going directly toward setting up our new kiln. Every contribution makes a real difference, and this gift moves us one step closer to expanding what our glass artists can create here.

We applied for this grant because the GKWC shares our mission of supporting the creative community and helping maintain a resource that's valuable to the whole area. Several GKWC members even take classes here at The MINT, and it means so much to have their continued support as we grow.
