Mixed-media sculpture: Beginner level sculpture class

This is a five-week, in-depth look at what is mixed media sculpture. 

In this class we will look at different ways to combine a variety of materials, thereby creating an expressive piece of art individual to your creative aesthetic. We will work with the simple beauty and difference between materials, study the different aspects of design, and learn how to express ourselves through a three-dimensional creation. 

Through researching the work of experienced mixed media sculptures we will create our own design and learn the different ways to combine materials to create a singular piece, utilizing tools and fasteners in a more creative way rather than just functionally.

Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of material or object as inspiration or foundation for their sculpture. 

At the end of this five-week course we will schedule a gallery time and display our work for a select group of friends and family.
