Intro to Cyanotype Printing

Ever wonder why architectural blueprints are blue? The answer is they used to be printed cheaply, quickly, and easily using a process called cyanotype. In this class, we'll use the original 1842 formula to make boring prints of ferns and flowers. Just kidding! We'll be rendering your own photographs as handsome 8x10" prints on watercolor paper, because the artistic possibilities of cyanotype go far beyond the  exercises that you may have encountered in elementary school. Don't have a $5000 Nikon? No problem: any smartphone jpg. will do. Are you a painter or sculptor curious about turning your work into a blueprint? Just snap a photo of your work before class. All materials will be provided by the instructor.
