 Miter Joint Basics

In this make and take class we will cover the basics of a miter joint and participants will take home a picture frame to fit an 8x10 print. In this course we will cover the basics of how to use the miter saw, table saw, and router, as well as a kreg pocket hole jig. We will discuss how different joints vary in strength as well as how and where we would use these joinery methods in a practical setting. These are basic joinery techniques that can be incorporated into cabinetry, tables and more.

In this class you will learn the safe way to:

  • Cut with a compound miter saw (chopsaw)
  • Use our SawStop tablesaw
  • Use a router
  • Use a drill and doweling jig
  • Use a variety handtools and measuring techniques

Think safety first: bring you own safety glasses if you desire. There will be some on-hand to borrow as well.
