Teen Pottery Club: Volume 1

Come join us for some continuing pottery education! This class is designed to be a continuation of previous pottery classes offered at the MINT. Some experience/ enrollment in previous courses is required. This course is open to students aged 12-15 who have an interest in expanding their pottery experience. This is the first of 4 sessions that will all focus on mastering fundamental principles of pottery. In this first session we will be focused on creating beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts out of clay for this holiday season.

Date	Program Theme	Learning Objectives
December 1st 9:30AM-11:30AM	Holiday Gifts	Students will receive some instruction on the wheel. This can be an introduction or re-introduction. We will discuss centering, thickness, drying and several other pottery principles.
December 8th 9:30AM-11:30AM	Holiday Gifts	Students will trim their pieces from the previous week on the wheel. Students will learn some fundamentals of handbuilding and make some ornaments and/or candle sconces.
December 15th 9:30AM-11:30AM	Holiday Gifts	Students will learn about the fundamentals of glazing pottery and glaze all of their work from previous classes.
December 22nd 9:30AM-11:30AM	Holiday Gifts	Students will pick up their finished pieces. We will make some wrapping paper and have a gift-wrapping station for finished items. A celebration with light refreshments will take place after gift wrapping.
