The MINT is helping to produce Personal Protective Equipment for our health care providers during this crisis. Our goal is to provide 10,000 masks in Rutland, VT.

Working with staff from the Rutland Regional Medical Center, a team of volunteers from The MINT has developed a face shield that is laser cut from a single piece of 0.020 PET plastic in less than one minute, ships flat, and folds to use.

We are making the design files freely available. Anyone may use them to produce face shields for their community.

How can I help?

I can provide material to The MINT

If you have stock of 0.020" PET, by the roll or the sheet, please contact us at info@rutlandmint.org.

(0.015"-0.025" will work, and we can try samples of other materials.)

I can make a donation to The MINT

You may donate here. Each shield costs $1-$3 depending on the cost of the materials we are able to find and purchase. The MINT is not currently able to run classes or accept new members to generate income. This project is only possible through the support of our members and the community.

I have access to a laser cutter & material

If you have access to a laser cutter and material, make some shields for health care workers where you live.  Check with your local hospital, nursing home or community support organization to make sure they can use these before you make them. You can download the files here, please tell us how many shields you have made here.

I can volunteer my time and skills

Please like and follow us on Facebook, or sign up for our email list, where we will put out the call for help as needed.

If you possess a passion for creating and making, a MINT membership is for you.
